Dear Orchid Grower,
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have experienced one of the kindest Summers on record. Whilst further North they had too much rain and further South not enough, the Mid North Coast of NSW enjoyed regular rainfall and mild temperatures during the last 6 months. The plants responded, grew well and are looking great. I am happy because the plants are happy!
During the last 12 -18 months we have been gradually been changing over to Orchidmate Coconut Husk Chip as a potting medium. I am delighted with the results so far. Some genera such as Native Dendrobiums, Phaius, Cymbidiums, Phalaenopsis, Cattleyas and the Oncidium family obviously thrive in this medium. There are a few genera however, that we feel do better in a blended mix, such as Paphiopedilums & Sarcochilus.
We have lots of new varieties coming through, both bred here in Australia and overseas, and these will be released progressively over the next few years.
Check our website for our various on-off lists that will be available by email.
We hope you enjoy your plants this season and look forward to seeing you soon.
Regards, Ray.
